UN allocates $10 million to provide fuel for hospitals in Lebanon

The United Nations said it will allocate Lebanon $10 million to help the country buy vital fuel to power hospitals and water stations. “The fuel and electricity threatens the availability of health care and drinking water throughout Lebanon, putting thousands of families at risk of facing a humanitarian crisis,” UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths said. The allocations are to help 65 hospitals in Lebanon, as well as primary health-care centers, dispensaries and medical cold chain storage.
